Just a little Marvelous imagination!

When children are given the opportunity to imagine, to create, and to explore their little minds grow and expand in whole new ways! SMD was asked to design a space just for that. A space that would start an adventure the moment you walked into the room.

In her initial consultation with the client Tonja found out that the three little girls whom the playroom was being designed for loved elephants, monkeys and giraffes. From those personal details inspiration to transform the white room into a jungle paradise was born!

A custom designed craft table that seats 4 created. A one of a kind dress up carousel was built just for the three little princesses. And a muralist was brought in to transform bare walls into a "Jungle Jewels" dream! Other special "wow" touches included a magnetized wall to display art work, individual fabric covered bulletin boards, specially designed chalk boards and of course loads of storage!

And to top it all off....actual three dimensional palm tree fronds hanging down from the ceiling over a one of a kind thatch "roof"! Now that is WOW for sure!

Fine Dining Indeed!

By using warm faux finishes and delicate stenciling this dining room goes from lovely to "oh my gosh I love it!!!". Custom silk window panels are taken up one more notch to truly sumptuous with hand painted detailing in deep antique gold. Polished woods, plush upholstery and carefully selected accents make this one inviting room to share a meal with those you love.

Simple, yet stunning!

A row of windows may seem difficult to "dress" but simple clean lines can add that dash of color to polish your room while still keeping a clean, soft line. In this breakfast area the client has a bank of windows with beautiful custom woodwork surrounds. Without impacting the woodwork or the view SMD was able to top off these windows with a cohesive look that catches the eye without overpowering it.

An Entry With "Ooomph!"

The entry of your home or business sets a tone of welcome to your guests. The entry way or entry room is the first glance, that all important first impression, your home (and thereby you) make. At Simply Marvelous Designs we are inspired by the "feel" you want your home or business to reflect and work to create that atmosphere in your entry.

This photo reflects a formal but comfortable home where family and friends alike gather to celebrate, snuggle or just spend time together.

It was very important to the client that the large custom windows not lose their sweeping view so the grand, granite topped console was carefully selected to ground the room while still keeping the view intact. A one of a kind custom ottoman creates extra seating while also serving double duty as a coffee table thanks to the beautiful hand painted tray that rests on it.

A custom faux fur throw, table runner and lush pillows coordinate with the window treatments and other furnishings to tie the room together. Additional touches include the marble faux finish on the two columns, to scale decorative pieces such as the grand candle wall sconces and of course special family photos in casually ornate frames.

This Simply Marvelous entry says "welcome" indeed!

Going Green?

Seems like everywhere we turn people are looking for a way to recycle, re purpose or reuse. At Simply Marvelous Designs we are fully on board with that!!

WE love to search out fun, funky and unusual ways to create our signature "WOW" for clients. Check out what we did here......client had an existing tv armoire that was to remain in the master bedroom we had just redesigned. Because they had purchased a larger tv they no longer needed the doors on the armoire. So designer extraordinaire Tonja decided that rather than sticking the no longer needed doors in the back of a closet that we would take them and turn them into one of a kind "old Italian villa" doors to be used as wall art!!!!

They now hang regally above each of the bedside tables. Now these once to be discarded doors are the focal art pieces of the room!

Gloriously green indeed!

Does Marvelous design have an age limit?

Two precious twin girls were given Simply Marvelous princess rooms!

The Mission: To create two rooms that were different but still similiar enough for twins.

The Outcome: Simply Marvelous! Complete with full bed canopies, breathtaking window treatments (thoughtfully planned to help with nap and bedtime darkness), chandeliers, hand accented lamps and tons of yummy details these rooms are enchanting yet still kid friendly.

Just goes to show Great design is for any age to enjoy!

Paint + Imagination takes a ceiling to new heights!

An amazing breakfast area had a wonderful ceiling coffer above but it needed a little dress up. Simply Marvelous Designs brought in a talented faux finisher to create an aged copper look accented by--get this--ACTUAL bronzed nailhead! The homeowner agreed that the final look was most delicious.

Master Bedroom WOW!

Tonja and her team were brought in to take a master bedroom from pretty to POP. By creating custom bedding and window treatments they were able to give the homeowner a true oasis of a bedroom. Finishing touches include custom designed florals, lamp shades and artwork fit for a king!
